The first time I talked to Diane on the phone, I knew I was going to fall head over heels for her and her fiancé Jason. She told me about how they “met” on an online film discussion forum and then got to know each other at the Sidewalk Film Festival, how he had surprised her with a visit to Flannery O’Connor’s home in Milledgeville, Georgia, and how they sometimes have “highbrow” taste but are also super silly together. When she began describing her plans for her wedding at Tannehill State Park next month, I was hooked, and I was SO happy when they decided to hire me!
In honor of the origins of their relationship, we met up at the Alabama Theatre a couple of Sundays ago for their engagement session. It was the first day it truly felt like fall outside, and the light was gorgeous, and when they stepped out of the car, she in a gorgeous yellow sweater with bold lipstick and he looking like Ben Gibbard, I knew we were going to have a LOT of fun. :)
I can’t wait for the wedding in October, but for now, enjoy these!
Diane had told me that her favorite colors were red, mustard yellow, and aquatic blues, so I think we got pretty darn lucky with some downtown spots to shoot at!
Just love this. Lovelovelove it.
Before we began to lose the light, we headed up to The Club to get some shots of the two of them with the Birmingham skyline in the background. I do believe these are some of my favorite images ever, and I’ve decided that dusk light is pretty much my new fave.
Whaaaat?! Stop it right now! GORGEOUS!
Addie - Awww… they get my vote for one of the cutest couples ever! Cant wait to see the wedding pics!
Aunt Heather - These are pretty cool pictures!! One of the coolest shots to me is the one of them with the concrete ball things……!! And the one of them outside the theatre in the light with all the shadowing…..and the one….!!! Love ya!!
Rebekah - Gorgeous! Great shots. Especially of the city lights in the background.
Shayla - That first shot is pretty amazing!
