When I was in Denver to shoot Nissa and Troy’s engagement session, I was so excited to be able to visit and stay with my friends the Keslers and the Merkls. At Erin’s, we watched reruns of The Newlyweds (yeah…), snuggled in bed together, and ate parfaits out of wine glasses for breakfast. Fancy pants! Then on Saturday, I stayed with the Merkls, whom a lot of you may recognize because well, let’s face it, they’re Morgan Trinker blogstars (for evidence, see their maternity session, baby shower, and newborn portraits). As always, Megan was such a gracious hostess, and we had so much fun eating Oreos, watching Whip It, and shopping for a new camera for Megan’s birthday. (Long story on that one, but she ended up going with a Canon Rebel… nice!) I also got to get my fill of baby Jameson, who is now five months old. I cannot even believe it. I could seriously eat this child with an ice cream scoop, please and thank you. He is absolutely hilarious and makes the craziest facial expressions. And boy, is he a mover. He wanted to be doing something different every three minutes, which can get a little exhausting since he can’t exactly move himself at this stage in the game. And he can go through a whole spectrum of emotions in 2.6 seconds flat. You will see what I mean when you look through this impromptu mini portrait session we did on Sunday morning before I left…

How much do you love the Godfather onesie? One of my favorite movies of all time… and it makes him look like he’s destined to make people offers they can’t refuse. Well, once you get past those precious chubby legs, that is. :)

Love this set…. I TOLD you he could make every expression in the book! And to think, I didn’t even have to coach him…

And here we have a nice action shot of spit-up projection. I couldn’t resist. It’s priceless!

When Jameson was first born, we thought he looked SO much like Brandon. But the older he gets, the more I see Megan in him too. It STILL freaks me out how children are a complete mashup of their parents, both in terms of looks and personality. It’s just…. weird. But awesome.

Morning playtime!

And this, friends, was our cue that the session was officially OVER. :)

Thank you so much Brandon and Megan, and Erin and Tyler, for letting me bum around your places all weekend. It was AWESOME to get to catch up with everyone, and I hope it won’t be too long til the next time! Love you guys!

Great to see the family in action! I swear Jameson gets bigger every day! Wonderful pictures Morgan, and Merkl’s! :)
Parfaits in a wine glass for breakfast, that sounds AMAZING! Next time we’re having breakfast at the Kesler’s! :) I love every single one of these pictures! And the facial expressions are hysterical, I definitely got it back at me and Lord help us when he becomes a full fledge walking talking child! haha! We loved seeing you and can’t wait for this summer, yeah yeah!
