Heather and Sprinkle Bakes

Heather Baird, the brains and talent behind Sprinkle Bakes, is another client brought to me through Carrie. They’re old friends, and Heather had been talking about wanting some professional photography done for her products before she launches her website later this year. Carrie sent her my way (holla!), and boy, am I glad she did. For one, photographing Heather’s goodies was an absolute dream. Can you believe how amazingly detailed these cookies are? You can tell she has an artist’s perspective, for sure. Even better, the sweets taste as good as they look. I tried the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies while I was there (yum!), and then she sent me home with some candied bacon cookies. I know- sounds totally weird. But SO surprisingly good! Heather and I had been emailing back and forth about ideas for the shoot, and how to display everything, which was very helpful for me as I have ZERO experience in food photography. I was thrilled when I showed up and she had prepared everything so perfectly! From the fabric squares to the vintage dishes to her variety of super cute aprons, she had everything I could possibly need to show her goods off in the best way possible. I just love when clients are full of ideas and a vision and take initiative to make things happen, because we then end up working off of each other, and I’m able to be more inspired and challenged than if I had nothing to go off of.

Anyway, Heather, I had so much fun photographing (and eating!) these delectable treats. Thanks for allowing me to be apart of your quickly-growing business! I know you’ll have nothing but success. Oh, and thank you for sending me home with canned goods as is your family’s tradition. We loved them!

And readers- she IS taking orders! She has an Etsy shop, and you should definitely go check out her blog, where she frequently posts all kinds of recipes and baking tidbits. My personal fave- her latest hedgehog-shaped Rice Krispy treats.

Love the adorable branding and logo. This is what your goodies are shipped in- so cute.

So, the whole time I was photographing her, Heather kept attempting to convince me of how un-photogenic she is. I beg to differ.

Adorable!

This is Heather’s pug, Biscuit. Wow, is this puppy ever full of energy! I don’t think he stopped moving the whole time I was there! But just look at that face. Oh so precious.

Cupcake rain boots! Perfect.

My fave. Heather, you’re beautiful. And talented. Pretty much the total package.

And now for the slideshow! Featuring Feist’s “Tout Doucement.” Because when I first heard it, I just thought of a French bakery. And I like French music in general, even though after four years of French classes, I still can’t understand one word of any of the songs.

Mo, I just want to let you know that:

A. I absolutely adore you. Both as a person and as a photographer. ; )

B. You are incredibly talented. Keep doing what you’re doing. And literally, please don’t quit your day job.

[...] might remember Heather Baird, owner of Sprinkle Bakes. I shot her yummies back in October when we were in Tennessee visiting. [...]
